Politics and Children – Vandalizing the Opponent’s Signs

Then it's thrown in the woods

Tamra Brickey is an old friend of mine and she is running for mayor as the sign suggests. She has a limited budget for campaign signs. Once there were nine and now there are four signs. For some mysterious reason someone has taken it upon themself to remove, hide or destroy her signs. My thinking is that they must be afraid she might win and they prefer the opposition, who is also the incumbant. Iguess they don’t realize there are laws about criminal mischief and destroying political signs. I’m betting the culprit will be discovered before the election. I haven’t figured out why politics and different ideas can turn some people into children and even give them tunnel vision. Now is the time to talk to the candidates, find out their views and then talk up your favorite.

We were on our way back to Tool when I saw the missing sign tossed into the woods. All was not lost since she was able to put the sign back together.

Sign goes back into the ground.

Brickey, Tool Local vies for mayor seat

Ms. Brickey stopped by the local gathering place in Tool, TX to talk to anyone having questions about what is happening in the city. She has spent time attending city council meetings and asking officials questions so she can be aware of what is and isn’t happening in town. Ms. Brickey would like to quash rumors by giving those interests information she has gathered. The place to start was the neighborhoods and Circle S. Early in the morning you can find many of the locals gathering to greet each other and discuss town politics.

This is a statement from Ms. Brickey:

“I am Tamra Brickey and I have lived in Tool since 1998. I retired from Abbott Labs in 1999 after 15 years of service in quality control and training management on the use of computers. I then pursued a career in the field of Public Safety, in college I majored in management and I served on the Tool City council for 2 years. I am currently serving on the ESD#4 Fire District Board. I am also the President of the of the Fire Dept. Auxiliary.

My focus as mayor will be the safety and welfare of all our residents. To give the citizens a true accounting of what is happening in our town. Road conditions and public safety are real issues and we need true accountability of what is happening in these areas.

My commitment to the City of Tool and its residents is to see cohesiveness within the city and know that the city is operating efficiently and effectively.

If you have any questions or concerns please contact me at 903-288-5248 or email me at tjbrickey@live.com. Thank you for your votes.”
