Upside Down Cherry Tomato Plant and a Frog | Tree Frog maybe

Found on my fence. Matches perfect don't you think?

Found on my fence. Matches perfect don't you think?

I found this frog on my fence this afternoon. Pretty neat how the colors help the frog blend in with the fence. There is an upside down cherry tomato plant hanging near the fence. The frogs seem to like this plant. First there was one frog. Then I found four more this afternoon.

Great matching colors

I found this frog on a leaf of the tomato plant. I don’t know what kind of frogs these are other than tiny. My granddaughter calls them tree frogs. I don’t know enough about frogs to know the type.

Bonnie was Jailed in Kemp, Texas

by MarDeck on Jul.09, 2009, under Cedar Creek Lake Life & Politics, Photos

No Clyde yet

No Clyde yet

This little jail sits behind what is left of the downtown buildings in Kemp, TX. Bonnie was housed here not because of bank robberies. Visit the jail and read why she was lucky enough to stay here. The jail is almost on top of the current city hall and police department. According to old timers in the Cedar Creek Lake area, Bonnie met Clyde in this area and they started dating and hanging out.
Years ago I met a man in his mid 70′s who wrote a book while he was incarcerated in the state prison system. He asked me to proof his life story as he hoped to have it published. Most of the book was about how and why he was in prison most of his life and what put him in prison. The most interesting part of the book was the first chapter. There he talked about his father’s speakeasy that was at their home and bootlegging. He wrote and told me about Bonnie being best friends with one of his female relatives. That relative and Bonnie used to come to the speakeasy to drink and dance. He claims this is where Bonnie and Clyde met for the first time. He also told about being bounced on Bonnie’s knee when he was small. I suggested he tell this story and then I lost contact with him.
One of his specialties and the trade he learned in prison was leather tooling. This man was gifted when working with leather. Sadly, this was in the 80′s and I do not remember his name.

TJ Brickey talking with constituants - on far right

Ms. Brickey is still stumping for mayor.  The election is in May and early voting begins soon. If you want to talk to her in person, give Ms. Brickey a call at 903-288-5248.  You can also find her on Twitter as tjbrickey. She is in touch with what’s happening in the City of  Tool and wants to talk to as many residents as possible.

She went to the Tea Party in Gun Barrel City and spoke to a lot of people. Had fun and discussed what individuals are concerned about in Tool.

The Tea Party at Cedar Creek Lake went off without a hitch. Except forthe male with the long brown hair plled back in a ponytail. He was taking pictures of everybody present like a few others. Then a senior citizen asked him if who he was and got no response. She was curious s she asked if he was with the paper. He stopped for a moment and then said he was with the paper. He disappeared soon after she asked him for more information. She would have bought the “paper” he was shooting for but was a little suspect. I talked to a few people that overheard the exchange and thought he was suspicious because of his actions. I don’t know of many photographers representing news media who would not want anyone to know the name of the outlet.
The City of Gun Barrel was kind enough to let the Tea Partiers use the parking lot at city hall for the event. Some of the local politicians made an appearance and spoke to individuals. Traffic came by at rush hour pace showing the support of the drivrs with a lot of horn honking.

Cedar Creek Lake was built some 30+ years ago and became populated by a lot of retired folks. Since then the population has been changing and many families with children have moved to the lake. The area has over 20,000 people within a 20 mile radius of the lake and many are active within their communities. They vote, run for office and attend everything from city council to water board meetings.

Politics and Children – Vandalizing the Opponent’s Signs

by MarDeck on Apr.20, 2009, under Cedar Creek Lake Life & Politics

Then it's thrown inthe woods

Then it's thrown in the woods

Tamra Brickey is an old friend of mine and she is running for mayor as the sign suggests. She has a limited budget for campaign signs. Once there were nine and now there are four signs. For some mysterious reason someone has taken it upon themself to remove, hide or destroy her signs. My thinking is that they must be afraid she might win and they prefer the opposition, who is also the incumbant. Iguess they don’t realize there are laws about criminal mischief and destroying political signs. I’m betting the culprit will be discovered before the election. I haven’t figured out why politics and different ideas can turn some people into children and even give them tunnel vision. Now is the time to talk to the candidates, find out their views and then talk up your favorite.

We were on our way back to Tool when I saw the missing sign tossed into the woods. All was not lost since she was able to put the sign back together.

Sign goes back into the ground.

Sign goes back into the ground.
